Hadi Yusri is a contemporary dancer and community activist who was born in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, and has performed in the work of Rachael Lincoln, Alia Swersky, Roel Seeber, Gary Champi, and Hannah Rice in the MFA and UW Dance Presents concerts at the University of Washington (UW). As a movement artist, Hadi has immersed himself in the study of contemporary, ballet, street styles and queer-based dance forms (waacking and vogue femme). Hadi is recently entranced in dance photography and video editing mainly by volunteering as a videographer during the showcases of the dance sessions he participated in. He believes that digital media production plays a strategic role in the creative process, which creates a new lens for viewing choreography and staging. Hadi looks forward to future research that examines how the manipulation of choreography and staging through digital camera angles, editing, and after-effects the impossibilities during live performances. In Hadi's free time, he also writes short poetry that verbalizes emotions, becoming an inspiration for physicality in dance making.

I revolve— what happens then?
Could they uncover the hidden in me,
or do I play around too much with imagining it, fearing its possibilities, and consciously keeping it from the outside world?
This imagination transforms me visually into challenging the collision between two or more elements that were never meant to merge.
Could I turn the combination into its own voice that personalizes my history, my interests, my culture, and myself?
